Wednesday with a Few Words: Working Through Grief

I visited Feline Rescue today to explore volunteer options and met a few new friends.

I also received my 65th birthday gift to myself πŸ˜ŠπŸŽ‰πŸŽΆπŸŽΌπŸŽ΅

  1. Meeting new cat friends is always a good and pleasant pastime. Your 65th birthday gift to yourself looks very challenging to play… Happy Birthday, Christine!

  2. My dad would ask, “Did you bring home all four you were visiting with?” The orange kitty, that one seems to have some sass. I did spy an orange kitty working as a barn cat here in Thermal, who is very friendly. I even got to pick him up and carry around, introduce him to our horses.

Have fun with the keyboard. Don’t be surprised if you remember those lessons.

    1. Hi Deborah, I have meant to ask if your Dad is O.K.? You mentioned taking over the blog for a bit and I wanted to check on him and send my greetings ❀. I did not bring any kitties home but met another kitty yesterday who lives with a friend. 😊

      1. Oh, yes, dad is doing fine. He was recalled to active duty. Seems like he was the only one with a certain expertise and possesses an extensive wealth of knowledge, and young enough. He was recalled before Christmas, and recently made promotion to Master Chief. Elizabeth, my sister, wrote about his promotion ceremony here: https://wp.me/p2G8qh-6cE. When he is military spic-n-span, he looks younger than my sister and me.

I told him you lost your Bagheera, but did ask if you were going get another kitty. I said you might be in a wait-and-see mode.

I will pass along your hello’s and other greetings. Thank you.

      2. My dad is 64. The military can recall him until he’s 70. Doesn’t need to be an emergency or anything, but a certain expertise/knowledge base is needed 24/7/365, they can recall him. I don’t quite understand it fully myself. Grandpa, dad’s dad, didn’t look almost 90 when he passed away … maybe closer to 60. It must be an anti-aging thing. Elizabeth and I are hoping we inherited it.

      3. I think you’ll like this too. When we took dad out for dinner, for his 60, he got carded. All of us were able to order an adult beverage, no ID was asked except for, you know who, dad. The waitress apologized, saying dad looked so young. If you could ROFL in a restaurant, we would have. πŸ™‚
