While at my local co-op this morning, the little watermelon I bought slipped from my hands and cracked open on the floor.
Because we are all like zombies these days, the cashier and other staff ignored my plight as I attempted to wrestle it into a bag to stop the seeping juice.
I twice said “someone needs to help clean up this spill on the floor!”. The guy finally looked my way and asked if I wanted another watermelon. “NO”, “but someone needs to help clean this up!”
Yes, this was the tip of an emotional iceberg.
“SOMEONE NEEDS TO HELP CLEAN THIS UP!”
The U.S. does not feel like a U.S. united by decency and consideration of our fellow humans, nature, global security and on and on.
Would it be possible to fast forward three years? No, this is the cowards way out. We must speak up and be vigilant. In the past 10 days we have experienced political assassinations (in my Minnesota), bombing raids, conflicting intelligence and propaganda, and ongoing assaults on constitutional rights and actions.
“SOMEONE NEEDS TO HELP CLEAN THIS UP!”
We are ALL responsible. I saved the watermelon and heard a voice say, “I’ve got this…”
Sophie says: “chill out mama.”
