Tonight was the (almost) final show of the first season with Chris Thile at the helm of A Prairie Home Companion, the radio program based in St. Paul, MN. More to come! Fantastic evening with special thanks to The Avett Brothers, Jesca Hoop, and Jen Kirkman. Also a shout out to Grammy winner Sarah Jarosz and the amazing Aoife O’Donovan.

Employment!

be the matchHurray! I started work at http://bethematch.org/ this week. I invite you to check out the website to see the work being done in research- and with families, patients and donors to link people in need of transplant for blood cancers/ disorders.

I am thrilled…and also intend to continue fiddling about with photography too. My new header is from a trip to Hawk’s View Vineyards in Wisconsin at the end of May.

Hope you are all well!! 🙂

Hip Zip: 55102- Maharaja’s

Maharaja’s, at 205 W7th St in St. Paul is, to quote a Beatles’s lyric, “like a magical mystery tour”. The jewelery and trinkets, black light poster shop, rock and roll memorabilia, East Indian art collection and sports gear (a nod to close proximity to the hockey arena) is a feast for all the senses…(including quite a collection of smoke paraphernalia!)

Maharaja’s has been ‘hip’ since opening its doors on the 4th of July, 1979, commemorating the day the man behind the concept, Kawaljit “Jit” Bhatia, came to the U.S.
