Sunday in St. Paul was gorgeous and we took advantage with a neighborhood ramble…
Finally! The sack house on the Mississippi will be more than an historic footnote! The Saint Paul Municipal Grain Terminal, built between 1927 and 1931, represents what was part of St. Paul, MN’s great history as a river port city. Happily, the structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. Now referred to as City House, it abuts the Sam Morgan Bike Trail and will soon be host to the Red River Kitchen, an offshoot of the popular Republic Bar in Minneapolis. Fingers crossed, it looks like the food truck doors open August 1.
As many of you probably know, ‘food trucks’ are all the rage in many urban areas. When young friends, Nathan and Leah, celebrated their engagement last summer, their parents surprised them with a cupcake food truck!

The music was definitely pumped up metal as we walked to Summit Brewery Friday evening for the weekly Tap Room hours. Under a perfect full moon, Marty and Lisa, owners of Motley Crews Heavy Metal Grill and Food Truck, offered their full menu to folks sampling Summit brews. The Heavy Metal Grill serves up luscious rib-eye, chicken, and ham as well as a kick-ass pretzel snack: Sully’s Sweet ‘n Heat Pretzels. Check out the whole grill menu as well as see when the truck will visit your neighborhood: Menu and Tour Dates!
