Modeling is Fun

I occasionally write about a group of young people who work for a cafe I frequent, Fresh Grounds. They all have amazing stories of resilience and recovery. They also don’t mind being photo subjects- in fact, the word is out- I am now, ‘the woman who takes pictures’. I often hear, “Will you take my photo?”

I just added Stephen and Jami to the portfolio:

Weekly Photo Challenge: Forward

Forward! Charge! Full speed ahead! This is my interpretation. Life is a delightful whirlwind. Something new everyday. Yesterday ‘rock pictures’…today the lovely Katielyn and I met up again for a photo shoot at a local cafe. As she moves forward, so do I.

Thank you Katielyn, for being such a wonderful friend and model!

Update: We are bored/ Part II

Caroline was shopping at Sophie Joe’s Emporium. I happened to have my backdrop and camera…

Caroline4 copyI know, spectacular, right?!! She is getting ready to travel abroad where she will be teaching English as a second language.

Anna was studying at my favorite coffee cafe, Claddagh, where I met up with my friend Halle:

Anna, also spectacular!

And Halle, wishing I would not take her photo…but I think she looks lovely!

Swedish, Blogging, Photography

I am watching Episode 2 of the Swedish series, Mankells-Wallander. This is a bit of a problem because I am also writing- and editing photographs- and I have to keep glancing up at the screen to read captions. I am starting to pick up a few words (love Swedish movies…) but the occasional ‘yes’ and ‘thank you’ will not help me piece together the storyline…

I digress. The whole work from home/ freelance thing is very isolating. That is not to say I do not put myself out there. I am developing projects. Today I spent more time walking on W7th, one of the main streets running to and from downtown St. Paul. I stopped by Rat’s Nest Salon, W7th Tattoos, and The Beer Dabbler.

As luck would have it, Katie, who often models, was at the tattoo shop waiting for her boyfriend. Because I like to think of all of you as my co-workers, I will share a few shots from the day. As I may have mentioned, I am working on a photography project- Where I Live.

Just writing a bit about the day is useful- thank you bloggers! Hi Bowie!
