The Road to 100

Just for giggles I googled, ‘the road to 100 blog followers’.

Here is what I learned: it might take quite a while to get there.

Apparently a niche is important (I am thematically challenged). Today I spent time photographing a pile of smooth Lake Superior rocks. Yes, the pictures are included below. Also, I am not a mom, well- not a mom to a human. I do not do fashion and I am not such a great cook. So I will just keep plodding along with odd bits here and there, cat photos, portraits, a Minnesota vista now and again, and rocks.

Best of all, I will continue to enjoy and admire the people and critters I have met in the blogosphere!

  1. what I have found in the short spell here is that the photo community on WP is starved for interaction…Lisa Simpson comes to mind, “grade me, judge me, rate my performance”. I am as guilty as the next. So if you fpecifically tagged your photo blogs with photo words like: black and white, still life, depth of field, your make of camera…you’d reach a whole new audience. I think there are a lot of people who cruise through ‘topics’, I routinely check out some of the ones i named. I’m pretty sure I found your blog by flipping through the ‘Minnesota’ blogs.

  2. Hi Stina,
Those are Lake Superior rocks? How beautiful! They make me feel of exotic locals or those Reiki stones.
I can understand the searching for a niche. It is like going shopping I have priority stuff(places and travel) but… I have to leave some blanks for new items.
    Photography is a kick 🙂
    See you soon!!

  3. I started my blog over 2 years ago, and for an entire year I had just a few friends as followers. And all of a sudden, after a week of intense posting (I was in scenic Vermont and captured the fall colors), suddenly my numbers of followers shot up and I reached the 100 mark. A few months later I hit the 200 mark, after continuing to post regularly (at least twice/week). So don’t give up hope – keep at it.

Thanks for visiting my blog and giving me lots of likes, today was my best day for likes according to WP – thanks to you!
