I wondered, as I wandered (hmmm…a song?!) what it would look like to crawl around in the corn fields. Nothing too dramatic, but it is what I was up to today… -
As some of you know, I have been a bit ‘under-the-weather’. Today I was determined to switch things up a bit and went on a meander.

Blogger, Alles Ist Gut/ Mrs. Spider and I seem to be on the same wave length today. While in the garden last night I met this lovely lady. She is a Black and Yellow Garden spider (Argiope aurantia)- apparently quite common!

I recently discovered Violet Gallery on WordPress; a treasure trove of gorgeous sketches, water colors, and a cat named Malus. One of the posts referenced “Kitchen Witches”. I happen to have one and wanted to share her. She is 25 years old and came to live with me in Rhode Island. My cooking is still sketchy, but the memories she preserves are precious.

The Atlantic was my first; oysters at the same time, somewhere near Wellfleet on Cape Cod. These pictures were taken at the Gulf of Mexico, near Indian Rocks Beach, FL. I love salt water, the ocean, and all the abundant life; every assault by man-made disaster is devastating.

I occasionally write about a group of young people who work for a cafe I frequent, Fresh Grounds. They all have amazing stories of resilience and recovery. They also don’t mind being photo subjects- in fact, the word is out- I am now, ‘the woman who takes pictures’. I often hear, “Will you take my photo?”

I do my best to keep up with your activities; I worry when I don’t see you around (or blame those poor folks at WordPress for dropping you out of my feed..)
Each person who clicks on ‘follow this blog’ led to this moment. I am honored, and humbled. I would like to thank my cats, Dylan and Bagheera, for their unflagging support, and to all the cats in the blogosphere who kept us going when we first started out.
