What a great day for a tour of local gardens! My favorite cafe, Fresh Grounds, put together an amazing array of flowers and art- including a painting created on site by Jimmy Longoria, renowned Chicano artist and mentor. He and wife Connie Fullmer founded the organization Mentoring Peace Through Art.

A few weeks ago, Minnesota became the 12th US state to allow same-sex marriage! I took this photo on a recent trip to New York, where same-sex marriage has been on the books for awhile:
